How do I determine how large my cake needs to be?
We will work with you to determine the size that will best suit your needs. In most cases, the entire cake is edible and is cut and served. However, many times clients will want a larger cake at their event that would end up serving many more people than will attend the event. In cases like this, we suggest adding faux tiers to the cake, which both makes the cake appear larger and is a more cost-efficient way to have a more impressive wedding cake. Contact us for more details.
How many people do your cakes serve?
Each of our cakes can be customized to serve the amount of guests you are expecting. we base our serving sizes on a 2" long by 1" wide by 4" high slice, typical for most weddings. However, if you would like a larger slice to serve your guests, please let us know and we can accommodate you. We also provide a cutting guide to the event staff to ensure that whoever cuts your cake knows the proper way the cake should be cut.
How much do your cakes cost?
Our cakes begin at $6 per serving for buttercream iced cakes and $7 per serving for fondant covered cakes. Our vegan, gluten free, and sugar free cakes begin at $6.50 for buttercream and $7.50 for fondant covered cakes. Our sculpted cakes begin at $10 a serving.
To determine the base price for your cake, multiply the number of guests by the price-per-slice for the cake type you're interested in. In this example, if you are expecting 50 people at your event, a fondant-covered cake would begin at $350 ($7x50). How much advance notice do you require?
We appreciate having at least two (2) weeks notice to make sure we have enough time to devote our undivided attention to creating your cake. However, we sometimes have last-minute cancellations and openings, so if your event is less than two (2) weeks away, don't hesitate to contact us! (Cake orders placed with less than two (2) weeks notice require payment in full at the time of ordering and are subject to a 20% expedited service charge)
Is a deposit required? When is it due? What types of payment do you accept?
We require a 50% deposit at the time of ordering to guarantee availability of your event date. We accept cash, check, and PayPal. The balance is to be paid one week prior to your event and can be paid in installments. Your order cannot be confirmed until we have received your signed contract and 50% deposit (or full payment if your event is less than 2 (two) weeks away).
What can I expect at the Cake Consultation?
You should bring your ideas, color swatches, pictures of the dress, flowers, invitations, or any other design element you would like to incorporate into your cake design. If you have no idea what you would like, don't fret! We are excited to help guide you through the options and help you decide on a design that will be amazing and absolutely memorable.
In a consultation, we will discuss flavor options, size, and design elements. If you would like, we can add a tasting to the consultation, which will provide you with a sampling of the most popular flavors of our cakes and fillings. The consultations last approximately 45 minutes while the tastings last approximately one (1) hour.
Consultations are $20 and tastings are an additional $10. If you place the order and give a deposit at the consultation, this fee is waived. Tastings are portioned for two; if you would like more family and friends present at the tasting to sample the cake, there is an additional fee of $5 per person. Contact us to set up your consultation or tasting today!
